Oh, my aunt and I went to Fry’s Electronics today. We picked up a new power supply for my computer. We were running late, so my aunt is just going to put it together (the eMachine is a BITCH to do things with. a BITCH.), see if it works, and bring it back to me later. Either way, I would just like to have my eMachine back to it’s awesomeness. I miss it.

Ugh, and I have to get ready for school, by doing the laundry and cleaning my room. Ugh.

Well, I better get started on something. I think I’ll clean my room (i’ll sleep better if it’s clean. and maybe i’ll have a fun dream or two. )

Success number one: Connected Xbox 360 to internet using a crossover ethernet cable by using the laptop.
Success number two: Connected Xbox 360 to laptop, watched pictures slideshow and listened to music, basically all you can do using Windows XP
Success number three: Connected Xbox 360 to Windows Vista on the eMachine, through Windows Media Center for Vista, watched some videos (not all worked, because of DivX codec being needed, etc.) looked at pictures, listened to music.

Kick. Ass.

Now, to somehow join Xbox Live, so I can get my ass slaughtered by real gamers.

I have NO FUCKING CLUE what Windows did, but magically, “Dual-Booting Babe” (eMachine) can see “Finestre” (Laptop).

AND it’s working the other way too! Finestre can see Dual-Booting Babe!

What the fuck?!?!

Oh well, it’s working!!!! I HAVE A NETWORK!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D

…ahem.

It’s just a horrible day. Especially the first part of it. Here is a list from what I can remember:

• I installed Vista. It was all fine and dandy until I actually installed the nVidia drivers for my graphics card, and the graphics ACTUALLY downgraded. I got so fed up, and Windows was giving me headaches, so I gave up.
• Cat called, which all in itself is not a bad thing, but when I went to reach for the phone, I lost my TOTALLY KICKIN’ mood ring!
• I hurt. I am never ever exercising again
• The word “exercise” is hard for me to spell, because I always want to spell it “excersize”
• I stubbed my toe
• I have my period
• The ER episode that I downloaded wouldn’t play in ANYTHING. And it’s one of only TWO episodes in that season that I have yet to download, and I have never seen them, and those are the episodes in which everyone finds out that Carter is addicted to painkillers.
• I had a headache
• And Mark hasn’t called me yet
• Oh, and my controller died. But after I woke up today I reprogrammed it. So it works again.

GAAAHHHHH! And that was in the first four hours of that day!

Anyways, I found this pretty cool thing, and it was on digg, but I am too lazy to find the website, so I’ll just tell you:

1. Make sure you are on Windows
2. Open Notepad (not Wordpad or any other text editor, it has to be Notepad)
3. Type “this app can break” without the quotes
4. Save it as whatever you want, as a txt.
5. Close Notepad
6. Open the file from “My Documents” (or wherever you saved it)
7. Depending on if you have Asian fonts installed, you’ll either see Chinese-like characters, or boxes. I see boxes.

That was just a fun thing that amused me for a few minutes. Consequently, it also works with other phrases of that same length.

So yeah. It’s emo-day for Staci.

Hahahaha I reinstalled Windows.

Which in effect leads me to reinstalling Ubuntu also.

So, I completely wiped everything clean (backing up all the important stuff, though) and decided to start afresh.

So it worked. But hahahaha, I could get the Internet to work on Linux, but on Windows??? Naw..

Then I went to netgear.com on Ubuntu, found the appropriate software, and installed it without the formal CD. Ha Ha. Boo Ya.

I’m so l33t.

So yeah. Everything seems to be all updated and installed. And it’ll feel like 127.0.0.1 again in  no time.

First of all, Windows does not like me. It decided to make PartitionMagic crap out on me while I was trying to create another partition for another Linux distro, so I could have (Windows)(Linux)(Linux), but NOooOOOooo, it had to fuck up my partition tables or whatever the fuck it’s called. But then I spent all night fixing it, and here I am, back on Ubuntu, downloading things using Automatix. Great. Joy. Boo. I had it all nicely configured and EVERYTHING.
And THEN, at school, remember last post when I said that I was downloading OpenOffice for the Macs at school? Well, the fucking Mac won’t let it fucking run, so yeah. Grr. No OpenOffice for me. Stupid administration blocking shit privledges. ANYWHO (hmm… maybe I can burn it onto a CD here…)

Speaking of school, I participated in the Day of Silence today. More about that in a later post.
I am going somewhere with my aunt or something in a few minutes. So yeah.

Oh, and *ONE MORE THING*

I’m thinking I like Linux more than Windows.

Things run more smoothly, act more nicely, and overall it just seems better. And it’s a challenge, so it’s more fun!

But I still LURVE Windows. It plays my games super duper well. It’s like l33tl33t. So yeah.

I want to play the Simmies, but…

I don’t want to go back into Windows….

*shifty eyes* something strange is going on….

I haven’t gone on Windows in 2 days. I think I might die.

Nah, actually it’s not that bad.

Linux is pretty cool. And GNOME kicks ass.

But I miss Trillian, my Windows IM program.

Now, I only have MicrosoftBabe, my primary AIM screename, in gaim. But I could put my other things in there, it’s just I am lazy. And who needs to be on Yahoo! and MSN when none of my friends use only Yahoo! or MSN? So ha.
